Stars and Trees

A poem by Anna | 10/30/2007

In the twilight, stars and trees
Began to sing, began to voice
The sound of earth and song of sky,
Began to play their haunting strains.

O hear them, hush now, listen close-
They're singing now, the ethereal ones,
They're singing now, the aerial beings,
They're singing now, the stars and trees.

Be still, be silent, little one,
And listen to the stars and trees,
Listen to their lullabies,
Only heard by quiet hearts.

If we run, we might just make it
To hear last few notes of strange, sweet song
For now the morning comes and takes it
And we are left to join the throng.

Thanks! I personally wish it were a little better, but my worst critic is myself (or so my cousin says).

That's me too. Everyone compliments me on my writing but I don't think it's that good. I love your poem though. it is truly lovely.

Same here. I always look at my writing and say, "I could've done that better! Nobody will like that!"
