(Oh no! I ran out of room in the 'favorite words' thing! ok, so here are some more: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, tangerine, twinge, continuity, theater, chrysanthemum, eclipse, fronds, decadent, jello, wheeling, wallow, harp, fastidious, arachnid, anthropologist, hilarious, mundane, lupine, bobbin, thimble, cavorting, coin, ricochet, facade, racket, flabbergasted, cannoli, guacamole, oracle, gossamer, hiccup, ambidexterous, cobweb, sky, twizzler, tangy, blossom.... yes, I LOVE words. A LOT.)

Anyways.....

Hi everybody! I'm Hannah W, and I am just beginning homeschooling this year for 8th grade. I'm really excited because I've pretty much always wanted to be homeschooled. My favorite things to do are read and write. My top favorite books are:
Peter and the Starcatchers, Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass, The Sisters Grimm, the Maximum Ride series, the Percy Jackson and the Olympians books, and The Thief Lord. My favorite authors are Cornelia Funke, Ridley Pearson, Lewis Carroll, Edward Bloor, Michael Buckley, and probably a lot of other people too, but I can't think of them all just this moment.
I also like drawing. And memorizing poems-- I make up motions to them and do performances for whoever will watch, with whatever props are available: scarves, brooms, desks, anything. And I put a lot of, how shall we say, feeling into the words. (meaning, of course, that there is shouting involved, and lnging at people as a Jabberwock and making them jump.)
Also, every week I look forward to my Irish dance class becuase I think dancing is a lot of fun. I only started dancing last summer, but I learn pretty quick.
I also love the woods and camping, so I wish I didn't live in the city. We live on a postage stamp. However, our backyard seems bigger when we play back there. We have a swingset and a "tower" (fort, whatever) that take up most of the backyard and also I planted a baby maple tree, which my dad did not appreciate. This spring I am going to plant pumpkins! I suppose I have a bit of a green thumb, but maybe it's more of a strange love of plants. I have African violets and some kind of vine-ish thing growing in my room. But the plant that best represents me is the fern. Look up its meaning and then you'll understand.
I also love my little guinea pig. His name is Owen and he likes to chase his brother, Rodney, all around in circles, which is so funny to watch! Plus since my old dog died, we got two puppies, so I have a lot of pets on my hands at the moment... It's rather like a zoo sometimes, actually.
Also I'm a Girl Scout. I love my troop (yay troop 316!) and yes, we do WAY more than just sell cookies. My current picture was actually taken at GS camp.
Another really important thing about me is that I am Catholic, and one of the reasons I am now being homeschooled is because I believe that it's what God's always wanted us to do, but it just took a while to realize this, which kind of is a bummer but I'm glad at least I made some friends at school so I sort of have the best of both worlds now. Also, hooray! I am making my Confirmation this year, and the saint I chose is Saint George.
I love to talk and I can talk in my regular voice or in a British accent or a French accent, both of which I use when I do radio shows on my (or my friends') tape recorder. (I did that for a history lesson once, and that was pretty interesting. Somehow a frog ended up in it, and my mom thought my frog sound effects were hilarious) I also love to be around people. Well, people I know, anyway.
Other favorites: the color yellow (which is what color my room is painted), trees (especially oaks), the seasons of summer and fall, warm weather, rain and sun, falcons, old-fashioned things, antiques and antique stores, typing on a typewriter, candles that smell good and make everything look warm and happy... well, I like a lot of things. I think the world is an amazing place, filled with wonders every day and everywhere, even little things.
I love to dress up as characters from books. To demonstrate this, at the moment I type this I'm wearing a Mad Hatter hat. =D
Basically, that's all. The other way to know who I am is to read what I write, becuase that's just me. :)
