Hospital Floors

A Poem By Heather Jones // 11/29/2018

The innocent child, he
hobbles atop the marbled,
linoleum floor. It is his
Stage, his Broadway musical—
starring only himself.

These are his first steps.
He takes them with great pride,
his clumsy stride so short and stiff,
but confident as ever.
Were the floors more soft,
perhaps a little red,
or maybe brown,
his accomplishments
would be greeted by
the cheers of loving fans.

But now, as he grins
from ear to ear and
does his dance, the only sound
that can be heard
beyond those walls
is gentle sobbing.

Oh my goodness, this is so

Oh my goodness, this is so sweet and moving. Precious.

C.H. Spurgeon - "God’s mercy is so great that you may sooner drain the sea of its water, or deprive the sun of its light, or make space too narrow, than diminish the great mercy of God. "

Heather, this is so sweet.

Heather, this is so sweet. You have such a charming, touching way of placing words and creating stories that just make us feel.

“The gospel alone is the power of God unto salvation.
Therefore, suffer, yes. Be misunderstood, yes. Be shamed, yes. But do not be ashamed. For the joy set before you, take up your cross, follow Jesus, be shamed and despise the shame!" -- John Piper

Y'all are so sweet!!

Thank you all so much! This is wonderful encouragement and I am so grateful <3 y'all are awesome!
