A Poem By Kassady // 8/28/2013

GenConners in Polos
I feel like I'm stuck,
In a parade,
Crazy hair,
They dance about,
Trumpets blare,
from their mouths
No on does care,
If I am trampled,
Under the fair,
Of rebellious students,
My heart has a tear,
Mix feelings confuse,
Don't know where,
To turn to,
I am confused and alone,
In the crowd of GenConner's in Polo's.

8/11/13
Staying up till six,
Is not recommended,
Really hard to fix,
Brain cells which ended.
And don't like me,
Stay out in the sun,
Totally free,
Of suntan lotion.
Never eat as much sugar as I,
I swear,
You could practically die.
I declare,
Sleepovers are the best,
But so is getting enough rest.

8/15/13
White fluffy clouds,
Standing still.
Crowds,
Of ants on a hill.
I stare off, dreaming,
Full of light,
Everything seeming,
To be alright.
I see upside down,
The grass is my ceiling,
I fall on my crown,
Vision reeling.
A bright blue sky,
In comfort I lie.

Weird
A weird giddy feeling,
That is weirdly calm,
My mind is weirdly reeling,
You are a weird balm,
To this weird game.
And how could you weirdly say,
A weird version of your name,
and a weird little "hey".
You and your weird confidence,
And weird attraction.
My weird ignorance,
And weird satisfaction.
It weirdly feels,
Like I'm weirdly head-over-heels.

Poetry Hiatus
Poetry spills,
From left and right,
I don't know why,
So I too write.
Don't understand,
This urge to start rhyming,
Interesting schemes,
Interesting timing.
All unrequited love,
All green eyes and no kisses,
Everyone pretending,
To know what real bliss is.
Here am I,
Trying to sort through my mind
Trying to write,
Poetry of some kind.

Ignorance
Maybe it's me,
Maybe I'm falling,
Maybe it's love,
Possibly not.
I have no clue,
What I'm talking about.
Maybe it's flirting,
Maybe I'm just ignorant,
Or blind of blatant compliments,
Maybe my kindness,
Has turned into something new,
Who am I to know?
Do you?

My Angst Poem (with a rhyme)
I've said too much, I know,
But you don't seem to mind,
My tongue has run away with me,
But you always seem to have the time.
You listen so patiently,
I know your stubborn and persistent,
I've read it all before,
Looked it up, read it and reread it,
A thousand times more,
Scouring for more detail,
Trying to know you better,
Afraid I might fail,
In this growing friendship.
I'm an awful gardener,
My green thumb's nonexistent,
Sometimes I feel like a foreigner,
When it comes to talking,
Like a normal person,
Am I too weird?
I guess not since you still listen.
But where's the breaking point?
I don't want to cross it!

Alien Invasion!
"You're so nice,"
They say over and over,
Making me wonder,
Have you never seen a nice person?
It's so weird,
And disconcerting,
To think I'm the only one,
In this huge world,
To be a kind human.
It's like I'm an alien,
All green and slimy,
Or maybe it's the opposite,
And I've just landed on the strangest planet ever,
With creatures who like pictures,
Of cars covered in rude signs,
And speaking with words,
I'd never use in a million years!
So nonchalant,
"Yeah that's what I @#$U said"
That's not English,
That my friend is called, "SAD!"

YAY! You finally got on here

YAY! You finally got on here and posted something after a bazillion and two years (but not really).

I feel like I have the backstory on most of these, so it makes them even more awesome. Haha.

GenConners in Polos
Hahahaha....I love the end. On a critique-ish note, that last polos doesn't need an apostrophe since it's not possessive. "No on does care" has a typo. And "mix feelings confuse" needs to be "mixed feelings confuse". Again, all just typos! I really like this, haha.

I also know what 8/11/13 is about! LOL! My only critique would be that moving into "staying out in the sun" doesn't really seem to fit the poem. Again, I really like the ending.

I really like 8/15/13. The rhythm was spot on and I liked the dreaminess of it. Very good, indeed.

"Weird" had to be my favorite. I daresay it's one of the best poems you've written. I really, really liked it and--again--I think I know what it's about. I love how you fit "weird" into every line. My favorite is this: You and your weird confidence/And weird attraction/My weird ignorance/And weird satisfaction. I REALLY LOVE THOSE LINES. My goodness do I love everything about this poem! *applauds*

Poetry Hiatus
After reading this over several times I really, really like it, too. It comes maybe over Weird. And I LOVE THIS SO MUCH: All unrequited love/All green eyes and no kisses/Everyone pretending/To know what real bliss is. Pssh? Me? Green eyes? naaaaah.....hahahaha. I just love this. Everything about it.

Ignorance
Okay, that was really good, too. Wow. You are on a roll! So glad you decided to get these down, because I absolutely love all of them. KEEP IT UP!

My Angst Poem (with a rhyme)
This had several standout lines, and I think my favorite one out of all the lines in this poetry: I'm an awful gardener/My green thumb's nonexistent. I just adore the imagery that creates. Perfection. Also, on another critique-ish note, this "your" should be "you're" (I know your stubborn and persistent). Love it! Love it! LOVE IT!

Alien Invasion!
LOL! Again, I haveth the backstory on this! LOLOL!!

Some of the best poetry you've ever written was in here, Kass. Wow! Please keep it up and PLEASE KEEP POSTING!

everything was better when/you would call and I'd be like/yeah babe, no way

Thank you!

I know I feel like I haven't been on here for ever! I'm really glad I did write these down, it felt good :D

Thank you! I read through all of these before I posted, but as you can tell my critiquing skills and my eye for mistakes are not up to date :P

Well with 8/11/13 I spent all day out in the sun, without sunscreen, so it was one of those poems that I wrote at night before bed in my sonnet Journal.... it was an important line to me :P But I can see that it wouldn't make sense in the poem all together.

Honestly? Weird is my favorite as well... I seriously get giddy whenever I reread it for mistakes :P So thank you so much!!!

Haha! I don't remember if it was you or Erin who kept on adding in "'green eyes" into their poetry, but it came up so many times that I thought I'd but it in the poem :P

Ignorance is not my favorite honestly... the rhythm went all wacky somewhere?

Thank you! I have such a hard time with "your" and "you're" though I know how to use them :P I just don't think while I'm writing, haha.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! for your wonderful comment! Love it!!! Hope I'll be posting more soon... :D

Write On!

I liked 8/15/13, Weird, and

I liked 8/15/13, Weird, and Poetry Hiatus the best! It's blue eyes, missy. Lol. Green ones, too, but mainly blue.
Great job!!!

"You were not meant to fit into a shallow box built by someone else." -J. Raymond

Interesting...

These are awesome! So glad you posted :) . Yes, I've gotten the Poetry Bug too. :D

GenConners in Polos: I think you did a really good job of describing the confusion and panic too. I know what it is to be in a public school....and yeah. Scary but the experience is good as well as bad. Hope you get what I'm meaning here.

8/11/13: HA! This was about a sleepover, right? I know exactly what this feels like...sleepover hangover. :D

8/15/13: I really like this one...like Homey said, it was really nice and dreamy.

Weird: Love how you used the word 'weird' so much. Great job on that!

Poetry Hiatus: I love the rhythm of this! I love everything about this one..."All green eyes and no kisses,
Everyone pretending,
To know what real bliss is."

Love it!
(Oh, and it was definitely Homey with the green eyes...but Idk about Erin)

Ignorance: Cute.

My Angst Poem: Very good!

Alien Invasion!: I relate to this. It is SAD indeed. :(

Keep on posting!!

Goodbye? Oh no, please. Can’t we just go back to page one and start all over again?” – Winnie The Pooh

Oh, c'mon? Why the fingers

Oh, c'mon? Why the fingers pointing at me?

Hahahaha...well, Kass. It WAS definitely me with the green eyes. Maddi's right there. :P heh. All my poems have green eyes somewhere in them. And there's a poem called green eyes on my page. What can I say? I like green eyes.

And Erin's favorite eye color is definitely blue! haha. As she said.
