Chaos, and other less chaotic poems

A Poem By little woman // 4/4/2013

I: Chaos

my heart breaks
like falling glass
shattering on the ground
my mouth still smiles
not a tear falls
yet inside all is chaos

a few words spoken
broke my heart
tore it apart and trampled it
and here I am
miserable and laughing
with a hole in my chest
where my heart used to be

II: Masks

I wear many masks
I conceal myself

from the world

I'm not shy
just self-consious
you see,
I am afraid
that if you look deep inside
if you lay my soul bare
I won't be what you expected
and you won't like me anymore
to some I take off
more masks
than to others
but at the base
when all my masks are gone
I am not so sure
I recognize myself.

III: Princesses in Disguise

I've always been enamored
with princesses in diguise
these beautiful women
who seem different
who I suppose
are consious of their dignity?
those women who smile
at sticky faces
who bear every sorrow with grace
those women who don't seem as if
they can be quite real.
You do not often see one
but when you do
you never forget it.

IV: Makeup

yo would scoff
if you knew how long
it's been since I went outside
without makeup on
but you see
with the makeup
I feel more like me

now you know
please don't laugh
but this is why
I am sometimes
most vulnerable
at sleepovers
at the pool
and other
non-makeup
places.

V: Precipice

standing on the height
gazing down below

i fell

deep into the blue
studded with stars
crying out to God

caught

by dark branching arms
cold trees broke my fall
a million miles away

blown

a soft warm breath
brought me down
and i was safe

VI: Cinema Retrospect

watching your smiling face
forgetting you ought to be dead
or at least you will be
in a season or two

watching him watching you
knowing now his love
knowing how your love for him
will grow

re-living favorite moments
anticipating a scene
reveling in forgotten wit

retrospect makes
for an interesting view
bittersweet
heightened
comfortable
I am not sure
whether it is better the first time
or the times after.

I saw this title under poems

I saw this title under poems out of the corner of my eye and had to click...

And then I scrolled down to the notes. And I saw the Downton Abbey poem. AND OMG.....noooo....who dies?!!! It almost sounds like Matthew and Mary....Gah! But I could be wrong. Or....Anna and Mr. Bates.

Anyway, I so get what you mean. Only, the show I've done that with is The Walking Dead which is slightly less proper-ha-...but awesome if you like zombies. Oh, and House of Anubis, which has terrible acting and is a TeenNick show but I can't help it! LOL!

I liked Chaos....and Masks was just so relatable. My goodness. I loved it. I like Makeup, too, and Precipice was interesting not only to read but visually. I really liked how you did that. And the ending to Princesses in Disguise was fantastic, as well.

You write the BEST poetry! Seriously!! Keep it up. :)

Sorry about the spoilers :)

Sorry about the spoilers. :) I didn't mean to cause so much anxiety!

Thank you so much!! I love hearing what you think! And you always say such sweet things.

And about your quote, up there, I would not describe your writing as terrible. In fact, I think it's really good. :)

DOWNTON FAN!

OOH! You are a Downton fan too? I LOVE IT! And I love that poem, so can totally relate. *sobs* But don't tell Homey anything :P LOL! She's just finished season 1.

My favorite was definitely Chaos, very well done and made me go "Ooh."

Downton Abbeyyyyyyyyy!!

Yes! I LOVE Downton. And I won't give away the spoilers. But didn't the last scene of Season 3 just tear your heart out and stomp on it? And then run over it again with a truck?

*broken heart* *I almost wore black for a week* *but I don't own enough black clothing lol*

We just watched the first two

We just watched the first two episodes of season two last night. (My mom and I). It's SO addictive!!! I bothered Kass with emails about the season one finale, of course. :P Can't wait until we're caught up!

Well... We just watched

Well...

We just watched Season 3 episode 5, which is the episode I'm guessing you're referring to, Little Woman. (nooooooooo....)

AHH.

I would like to take a moment

I would like to take a moment of silence in respect to all those who sacrificed their lives to the plot line of Downton Abbey.

And yes, that episode is the one that made me decide to wear black for a week. (Until the next episode aired on PBS)

Wasn't it awful and kinda beautiful but mostly heartbreaking?

*goes silent as well* Yes,

*goes silent as well*

Yes, it was awful! The worst part was the guy who you were talking about in the poem--his reaction. I knew it was going to be bad. Poor guy! :( I love him, so that makes it even worse. The person who's untimely....whatever-you-wanna-call-it, well, she was my favorite--and HE is my favorite, so. GAH.

I hope they keep him on. I'll have to wait and see.

My mom and I watch the episodes together and at the beginning, when you-know-who was listing her symptoms, my mom knew what they meant. So she called it before they even got to the awful back-and-forth stuff between those two....men. Haha.

But seriously. I was like, "NOOOOOOO."

*shakes head*

^ This whole thing is probably utterly confusing, but I tried my best not to use names.

*silent*

*silent for a few seconds then bursts out crying*
