Sudden Brother
A Poem By LoriAnn // 1/20/2009
It sometimes happens
That when I’m reading
Or writing
Or singing to myself
I forget to notice
The stealthy tread
Of steps
Outside my door
And just when I’ve gotten
To the best part
Of the book
Or even the song
HE bursts in like a firecracker
Makes me jump
Bangs the door open
And I usually get a little mad
HE just stands there and grins
In an infuriating way
That I kinda like
(Though only after HE’s gone)
Sudden Brother

Are Washintonians the only people who pronounce the word "our" as "are"?
Not so much like Birdie...
Birdie (nickname for my brother) used to and still does try to scare me... note the "try", though, because he's only succeeded once. ;)
I do know people who are quite good at it, though.
I can't relate because I
I can't relate because I only have two brothers and both of them are older than me. But as far as the actual scaring goes...I'm EASILY scared. A little while ago, my friend's younger brother (age four or five) was in my living room. I thought it was somebody else and I turned into the hall to see who it was. I saw nothing at my eye level but then I looked down and saw this little child and I screamed so loudly. Needless to say, it was somewhat amusing to the people watching. I may not have a little brother who scares me, but I have about everyone else in the world who does.

Are you sure you've never
Are you sure you've never met my little brother, LoriAnn? This sounds just like him.
Brit, your comment made me laugh! I seem to have a vauge recollection of an incident similar to what you were describing:):);)

Brothers
I'm pretty sure most brothers are like that. And now I have two - and one is only four. yeah; double the fun!

Me too
A seven-yr-old and a 12-year old
The seven yr old isn't as bad if I can get him alone.
:)
Mine are fourteen and four. The four-year-old's not bad if you can get him to sit still. LOL
