Come Home

An Essay By Tamerah // 3/27/2008

Weary child
Come home
Rest your tired wings
That have soared so high
And fallen so far
Do you remember
I am always here
To catch you
I love you
Even when you fall
Battered and bruised
I will comfort you
You know I long to
If you will only come home.
You have cried alone
But you do not know
That I hold all yours tears
In my hand
I was there when you wept
I was there when you ran
But you would not see
You cover your eyes
And you hid from me.
But when you take off your mask
And your all thats left
Though you try to hide
I see through you
And I love you.
Child of mine
Always remember
I am here waiting
Though you stray
Far away
I am here, always
And I love you.
Dearest one
You may wander
Far and wide
Beneath the sun
Just remember
I am waiting with open arms
For you to join me
On my throne.
Weary child
To come home.

Some of these lines create some great images:
"Rest your tired wings/ That have soared so high"
"But you do not know/ That I hold all of your tears/ In my hand"

I found this one comforting for some reason -- perhaps it's the last lines:
Remember/ Weary child/ To come home."

I like this. The soft,

I like this. The soft, flowing feel of the poem matches its subject matter.
