Forget Something?

My Mom is legendary when it comes to giving late gifts. Be it Birthdays or Christmas or any other gift giving occasion in between, my Mom usually forgets to give someone something. I'm sure we have all heard of the saying "Out of sight, out of mind", this applies perfectly in her case. She hides her treasures away in some dark corner of her bedroom and, quite simply, forgets about it.
Around Christmas time last year i was really into this thing called decoupaging. If you don't know what that is just know that it involves tissue paper (in most cases) and some form of glue, and of course something to decoupage (i like decoupaging little wooden boxes). Anyhow For Christmas i got a lot of things for my decoupaging. Pretty much everything you would need to make a truly great piece of artwork. At the time i didn't think it in any way odd that i didn't get any tissue paper, and i never really have thought about it since.
Now i must take a moment to note the time, right now it is about 11:30 PM.
So a few minutes ago my Mom came into my room carrying a package of bright colored tissue paper.
She said to me,
"I've really outdone myself this time, this is from your birthday." And she handed me the package. A huge smile spread across my face and i exclaimed,
"My birthday was more than six months ago!"
Yes, six months ago. She discovered the tissue paper in the corner of her closet when she was taking down the curtain for some reason. Now i have no idea why she was rummaging in her closet at 11:30, i'm not even sure why she was still up in the first place (it sounds so weird me saying that about my Mom when it should be the other way around) but now i have a lot of tissue paper!
So i guess i better get busy!
But for now i think i'll go to bed. I would have waited to write this tomorrow, but i was afraid i might be like my Mom and just forget!
