When you heard that distant growl, that bass from afar
You, too, if you felt the energy
Almost snapping in the silent expectation
What clouds, so terribly beautiful!
Drawing the eye to the heights like no sunshine could
What silence, what longing
What emotion just waiting to fling itself upon you!
Sing me a song of full measure
Full feeling
Full emotion
Full love
Full anger
Thunder, preach!
No sickening half-effort here
No pitiful clinging clouds and dripping wetness
No dreary depression today
No miserable patter turning the heart inward to dark thoughts
Give me lightning!
Breaking the sky with sheets of glory, dancing flame!
Give me heavenly cannon!
Shattering comprehension in total ferocity!
Sing me a song of power!
Full passion!
Full might!
Full wonder!
Full glory!
Storm, shriek!
You, too, would laugh
When you felt the cold fling of the falling waves

Of dancing sheets, breaking over your very head!
No sheltering roof here!
Only pounding pellets cast from the burning sky
