Heart

to live

An essay by Aisling | 10/5/2008

To live is not just to exist.
It's so much more in-depth than that, so much more daring, so much more dangerous.
To live is to take a risk, a great and holy risk. And what do we risk?
Our lives.

Eire

An essay by Aisling | 8/12/2008

you came running
over the green fields you came running to meet me
you took my heart by surprise
you came dancing
wildflowers and windswept trees, smiling out loud
you took my hand and spun me
you came singing
echoes in the ruins of a majesty at once ancient and undying
you took my breath away
and somewhere
somewhere back in your dark, wet earth

I never knew

An essay by Aisling | 4/22/2008

I never knew You
until I knew You wanted me
until I knew You were fighting for me
I never knew You were running after me
pushing through the clutter, arms stretched out trying to reach me
I never knew You hadn’t taken a moment’s rest
since that first moment
I catch the noise at last
turn and see You lunging through the crowd
of my other loves
Your hands and feet cut and bleeding

Ode (O You who have loved me)

A poem by Aisling | 12/20/2007

O You who have loved me into life

if I give up the ground
and dare to drop
from the heights my heart has climbed to?
such a long way down
from self-possession
Hope, hold tight my heart
in the dark between the leaping
and the everlasting arms
the half-second fall
holy in-between
when the world holds its breath with mine

song - Lord please take my tears.

A poem by Velocity | 12/15/2007

Verse:
Looking through the crowd, one million faces.
One million hearts broken in two.
Tears roll of their cheeks into their hands.
Lift up your hands to the one who made you.

Chorus
Lord please take my tears away.
Please take my heart and make it new.
Fill all the empty spaces with you.

Lord please take my pain away.
Help me understand your truth.
Take my heart and make it new.
