Jesus

Worth While

A poem by Bernadette | 10/27/2008

Can’t take away a tear
But can prepare a wound
So bitter can it be
To see the sea rise
Like a mourning wave
Inside a fearful eye
Can’t take one more breath
Captive in an angry look
To see another step
So take a look around you
To see if you can find
The resting you need
For those weary little feet
Don’t go beyond your home
For no one will see you cry

Jesus

A poem by Brianna | 8/31/2008

Jesus in the sun that rises
bright and glorious, pink horizons
Jesus in the birds that fly
soaring, floating, passing by
Jesus in the crashing waves
white and foaming, ocean spray
Jesus in the open fields
touching heaven, green and real
Jesus in the summer night
cool and damp in pale moonlight
Jesus in the trees that blow
whispering softly all they know
Jesus in the great blue sky

Bring Us Home

A poem by Anna | 6/28/2008

We’re born into sin
Everyone's wicked
But we think nothing’s wrong
We don’t know we’re
Dying
without growing old

We may feel that we’re
In a meaningless life
But we push it away
We don’t let ourselves know we’re
Empty
without having been filled

The emptiness grows
And we try to avoid it
We fill ourselves up with all the wrong things
And we find ourselves
Bound

Christmas Time

An essay by Emily | 12/12/2007

I love Christmas time! Where on Christmas eve you ride to Grammy’s house in a Christmas dress or sweater and when you get there you see all of your family sitting on couches, and you cousins laying on the floor or running around playing and screaming and their parents tell them to be quiet!

When your down and out

A poem by Velocity | 7/20/2007

There's only one way
to get through all days.
To trust in Jesus
He'll be there for you.

When struggles come
and temptations fight you.
Trust in Jesus
and He'll get you through.

When your blue,
and down or out
you cannot think.
only doubt.

Trust in Jesus
its forever true
When you need Him
He'll be there for you!

I Love You

A poem by Timothy | 5/23/2006

From the beginning
I loved you
I painted you a picture
And put you in it
And I loved you

You blackened my picture
Still I loved you
Darkness covered my picture
The darkness of lust
And I loved you

I sang you a song
For I loved you
To woo you back to me
You covered your ears
Yet, I loved you

I reached into your picture
I loved you
I painted joy for you
