Dancing Leaves

A poem by Old Fashioned Girl | 10/23/2008

Dancing Leaves

Leaves are dancing through the air.
Dancing here and dancing there.
They drift down to the earth,
To silently sleep in a dusty berth.

Their change was slow at first,
A natural part in the Creation that sin cursed.
First through the green, yellow came
Then it made a scarlet flame.

The trees are now a brilliant parade of gold
Like the Kings and Queens of old.

Autumn Begins

A poem by Bernadette | 12/11/2007

From green to gold leaves are turning
From Summer to Fall seasons changing
From haze to blue the sky is yearning.

From feeding flowers to raking leaves
From playing in water to playing be fire
From green to red leaves are turning.

Now is the time for harvesting
Now is the time for pumpking carving
Now is the time for Thanksgiving
Now green to orange leaves are turning.
