Another Poem About Crying

Submitted by Damaris Ann on Fri, 02/01/2019 - 00:45

The tears kept falling
I dashed them away
Angry at how fragile I’d become
But the anger only made the
Tears fall
Adding to the overwhelming sense of
Feeling every emotion
So strongly
It started with sympathy for
A Hollywood actor
Making pain feel tangible for a moment
While creasing over on-screen
His face a tangle of fear and
But the truth is that I’m not
I’m broken because
A song about seeing the stars
Over Amsterdam
Has crushed my heart
And the ending titles of a romantic
Had me bawling harder than
Even I would like to
My fragile heart breaking over
Every fear that Hollywood enlightened in me
Tearing my feelings into shreds
Leaving me exhausted
And hollow
Wondering “what’s next?”
“Will I ever be
But it is what it is
And tomorrow may not be
Like today
So I’ll embrace fear as long
As it keeps me clinging to the cross
And I’ll embrace pain if it reminds
Me to speak to Jesus
I’ll embrace tears
Since they remind me of Living Water
And lastly I’ll embrace
The unknown
Because there is Someone
Out there
To whom unknown is nonexistent
And if He knows
What’s ahead
That is enough

This was delectable to read. All the emotions come crazy and you summed it up quite nicely. Well done :)

When I worship, I would rather my heart be without words than my words be without heart.

So beautiful Damaris!

And I agree with Sarah I really like this line:

Because there is Someone
Out there
To whom unknown is nonexistent

You have such a way with putting feelings into words so well! Lovely job!
