Sleepless nights and hopeless days
Nothing sought for, nor to say
Dreamless sleep and lifeless wake
Love once held becoming fake

Indecision fogs the sky
Time's too fast for a last goodbye
Consequences must be faced
Love is lost as we fall from grace

For all the promises we make
We're slipping backward day by day

Author's age when written

I haven't been on here in ages, but I thought I'd stop by and see what's up. One thing I like to see in poetry is specifics; it makes the images more vivid and unique. For example, "Love once held becoming fake" is a common theme in poetry, but what makes this love different? How did it start, how did it end, how does the speaker know it has changed?
