Make A Weapon Of Song

I just can’t
I can’t do it
I have no strength
To avail me
In my struggles,
My pain and sorrow
My hardships and trials
What can I do?
“There’s nothing you can do”
I’m tempted to believe
It seems so true
It could not get better
“Forget it all
Give in
You always be helpless
Never changing
You’ll never amount
To anything”

But the Spirit inside me says
The Ghost inside reassures:
“I’ve given you a weapon
That’s powerful and crushing
Over the enemy!

A song…

A song of praise
A song of grace
A song of victory!
For who dwells inside you?
What shall save you?
Human strength?
Your talents?
Your treasures?

Who shall save you?
The LORD of heaven
And of the earth
Of the universe!”

Sing it out!
Sing out the truth!
Even if you don’t
Feel good
Sing out what you know
Is true
Speak the truth
To your heart and soul
Crushing the lies
Crushing the fear

Make a weapon of song
Make praise your defense
The lies
The truth.

“Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that confess his name.” ~ Hebrews 13:15

Author's age when written

I was inspired to write this poem by the new song by Bethel, “Raise a Hallelujah”.

This is so good!! So timely to this season of my life. Just yesterday I was praying that the Lord would remind me to rejoice in Him more faithfully. So beautiful. I needed this poem.

I don’t thrive off of chaos: chaos thrives off of me.

Oh gargoyles Joy, I love this poem with a passion. It flows beautifully and the message is much needed. Love it!!!
