With her whole body quivering in shock she let go of the dagger, and she ran.

He looked up as she walked through the doorway of the living area and headed towards the front door.

"Where are you going?"

"Out. Gonna walk a bit."

"With a backpack and a flashlight? Where are you walking to?"

The tips of her fingers tapped her denim thigh impatiently while she scrambled an answer together.

"It's been five days since Kent went missing, Jax. I have a feeling he's out there. I have to keep looking."

Proper Treatment Of A Heart

"Tis better to have loved and lost / than never to have loved at all".
-from the poem "In Memoriam" by Lord Alfred Tennyson
A heart is not a thing
To be put in a box
(Close the lid with a clang
Pretend love as one talks)
In order to gain
A “pure”, dried up box of rocks.

Going Down is Easy

Submitted by Timothy on Tue, 03/04/2008 - 20:20

Going down is pretty easy,
Going up will take some time.
We can take the curves around this hill,
But go down in a straight line.

Going down is pretty easy,
It only takes a shove.
Going up will take some effort,
And we’ll need to learn to love.

I remember where we were before,
And how suddenly we fell.
How we’ll get that high again,
Is really hard to tell.

Looking up from where we stand,
The top does not look near.
We’d better take each other’s hand,
And start again from here.
