The Dragon's Treasure

Submitted by Sarah on Thu, 04/09/2009 - 21:46

Gold and silver,
running like a river,
littering the floor.
Diamonds and rubies,
glittering and shining
and priceless things galore.

By a dragon hoarded
by its fire guarded
they'll leave this cave nevermore.
Till it can no longer fly
and it finally dies
Its roar silenced forever.

The treasure will be pillaged
it will benefit a small village
the dragon's treasure dispersed throughout the world.
another dragon someday
will steal it again
and once more it will rest in a Dragon's hoard.

Author's age when written

I know I rhymed world to world but I'm a terrible poet usually. I don't evn know what possessed me to try and write this one.
Enjoy if you can. :D

I like it!! It's cool. :)
"Sing as if no one is listening;
Dance like no one is watching;
Live as if you will die tomorrow;
Love like it will never hurt."
-Old Irish Saying

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve." -Bilbo Baggins [The Lord of the Rings]

Dragons, whohoo!! I like this poem! :0)

I didn't read Eragon. Should I? This poem and another one (I'm not sure who wrote it) made me think about. Good poem. I like the first stanza best.

"I always bite my flesh when I'm thinking." Alecia

I liked the concept of this poem - and I agree with you, Heather, dragons rock! (I should drag out and finish my dragon poem that I started ages ago)
Brit - should you read Eragon? Eh, it's up to you. Eragon was great, Eldest was okay, Brisingr was strange and goodness knows what Paolini will do with whatever the fourth one is called. In short, I won't steer you in one direction or another.

Words are at their highest when they are used as a window through which we can see God.

Brother: Your character should drive a motorcycle.
Me: He can't. He's in the wilderness.
Brother: Then make it a four-wheel-drive motorcycle!

meh, I actually like Brisingr better than the first two although Arya changed a lot. :)
"I wish I could fly, like dandelion seeds
Following currents, floating in the wind
Leaving behind the old and tormented
Seeking a place to start anew
I wish I could fly like dandelion seeds..."

"Sometimes even to live is courage."

I liked the series, but the movie turned it into Star Wars without rivits. LOL

I love this poem - it gave me shivers, which is my highest form of praise. Good work!

Magical. :)
I'm lost. I've gone to look for myself. If I should return before I get back, please tell me to wait.
