Though None Go With Me

Notes: I have been working on this for about two months. It's been a journey, and still I am not satisfied with this final draft. But I still feel like I should post this. I am asking that if you comment, to please, please give your most honest feedback. It may hurt, but it will build. I need advice on grammar, content, and mainly how to write more powerful short stories. I've put my heart and my soul into this story, and I have prayed and prayed on how to write this, because some parts were just - so - hard.

Teach Me To Die: A Prayer

Submitted by Kyleigh on Thu, 12/30/2010 - 15:50

{Lately martyrdom has been on my mind. Stay tuned on my blog to find out why. But then I caught a stomach bug and was quite miserable. The next day I listened to a sermon by Eric Ludy called "Extraordinary Courage" ... which really stepped on my toes. My thoughts, Mr. Ludy's, and some of Richard Baxter's are included in this prayer}

‘Tis so easy to romanticize
The notion of martyrdom.
The longing inside with the prayer
"Thy kingdom come.”

‘Tis so noble to want to die
For His glorious name,
Yet when the pain comes

Rest in Peace

Rest in peace, little one

Rest in peace

Your troubles are over, little one

Rest in peace

You looked death in the face

Little one

And did not flinch

Oh, the pain you endured

All because of your love,

Little one

Be not afraid

They talk of justice, little one

They talk of peace

But who, little one, noticed

When you suffered?

Pray, little one

You are safe now
